I think the intention is good, but the execution is problematic… trying to create a list like this has a few issues, some of of which have already already, but in think the bigger issue is in the title; why try and recreate Silicon Valley?

Different regions have different strengths and weaknesses and identifying the strengths of a specific region in or around HBCUs would provide some guidance towards what specific innovations might be best cultivated there. Silicon Valley has been created as a result of specific direct and indirect circumstances that will be difficult to duplicate. I think that if you look at NYC and Boston, they are having successes in creating an innovation economy different in some ways, but still beneficial and more reflective of the ecosystem they have grown from.
